Your Wedding Ceremony ~
First Presbyterian Church has a beautiful sanctuary and caring pastoral staff to help make your wedding a lovely and joyous occasion. To schedule the use of the church for your wedding please contact the church office at 941-746-6141 or the pastor. We will be happy to send you an information packet and arrange a tour of the sanctuary.
It is the pastor’s desire that your wedding be one of the most significant moments in your life. Premarital counseling is an important part of the preparation for marriage. This counseling provides the opportunity for you to discuss the meaning of a Christian marriage and to plan the details of your wedding ceremony. Please make arrangements for this counseling at least four weeks prior to the ceremony.
The couple may feel free to have another minister officiate. However, you should consult the pastor of First Presbyterian Church in order for him to issue the invitation to the guest minister.
Thoughtful planning is necessary for your wedding. The wedding coordinator will assist you with all of the details. You should call the coordinator when the wedding date is placed on the church calendar in order to discuss arrangements pertaining to your wedding. The coordinator is an official representative of the church and is trained and experienced in directing weddings. She will attend the rehearsal and wedding to assist the minister. She is available to answer questions about the church building and our wedding policy.
For members or nonmembers of the church there are a few administrative items that will need to be completed prior to a wedding date being reserved for the church.
- Schedule a Meeting with the Pastor of the church.
- Both completed forms in their entirety should be returned to the church office.
